Our Sources

Citing is important because a writer must give credit to whom they got information or ideas from. If someone has worked hard on their research, they deserve the proper recognition. Stealing ideas from the creator is dishonest and is illegal in many cases. Citing is also important because the reader can use the extra information we did not state in our blog post to use for further research.

On our blog, when we find information on a website that is accessible to everyone we will hyperlink to the site. Hyperlinks allow readers to easily find the original source of data. We will be pulling from a combination of sources including online articles, quotes and recommendations from teachers, advisors, and career services. When we cite articles we will use MLA format. This is the format that is most prevalent and easiest to use for any reader. MLA format allows readers to not get distracted from the excessive in-text citations but is still readily available to use if the reader wants more information. In-text citations will have a superscripted number indicating which source information is from.
